Learn with Lula
Although the pandemic prevents us from hosting students and teachers at Lula Lounge this term, we hope that we can stay connected online until we can once again dance, drum and dine together at Lula Lounge.
Offered in French, Spanish or English, Lula's virtual music and dance workshops can be customized to your students' language level or area of study focus.
Emphasizing participation, fun and cross-cultural understanding, our workshops are a great way to energize and inspire your grade 6 to 12 students.

French Créole culture is a powerful medley of sound, dance, food & traditions, influenced by the people of Africa descent and European settlers in the Caribbean.
A Canadian-born dancer of French-speaking Caribbean descent, Marie-Paule Jean-Gilles, leads this one hour interactive virtual workshop which fosters a greater appreciation for Creole culture, dance and music while encouraging students to practice speaking and learning in the French language. The workshop features live percussion by Juno-winning, Grammy nominated Magdelys Savigne.
Cuban Music Workshop - Cha cha cha
Delivered in Spanish or English, this engaging and interactive session is taught by the award-winning Cuban Canadian musicians, composers and educators Elizabeth Rodriguez and Magdelys Savigne, best known as leaders of the Juno-nominated group OKAN. Students will learn about the Cuban language, culture and rhythms through an exploration of the musical form known as cha cha cha.
Cuban Canadian dancer and choreographer Dailyn Martinez will inspire even the shyest students to join us in exploring the joyful rhythms of salsa. While reinforcing Spanish language skills, this beginner dance workshop gets the brain and body working together. Sabroso!!!
We hope to see you (virtually) this year!
